Day 1 Depart U.S.A - Depart Newark Airport
Day 2 Rome - Arrive early morning in Rome. The group will be met by a tour guide and transferred to a hotel in Rome. The balance of the day is at leisure in the "Eternal City"
Day 3 Rome - The group will visit the Catacombs, the Appaian Way, Capitoline Hill, St. Peter in chains, Colosseum, Arch of Costantine, Circus Maximus, and Palazzo Venezia. Also visit three major basilicas in Rome including St. Mary Major, St. John Lateran, and St. Paul Outside of the Wall.
Day 4 Rome - After breakfast there will be a tour of St. Peter’s Basilica, as well as a visit to the Vatican Museum, including the Sistine Chapel.
Day 5 Monte Cassino/San Giovanni Rotondo - Depart for San Giovanni Rotondo. En route visit Monte Cassino, here visit the Abbey in which St. Benedict lived. Founded in 529 A.D. , the monastery is set on an impressive hill overlooking the town of Cassino.
Day 6 San Giovanni Rotondo - After breakfast the group will celebrate Mass and then visit Padre Pio’s tomb and cell; the old church where he received the Stigmata; his confessional and the new church of Santa Maria Delle Grazie. Also visit the Grotto of St. Michael and Padre Pio’s most famous charitable work –The Home for the Relief of Suffering.
Day 7 San Giovanni Rotondo/Rome - After breakfast return to Rome with the balance of the day at leisure.
Day 8 Rome/U.S.A. - Morning transfer to Rome Airport. Arrive home same day.
